This is an intensely colored specimen of color-changing chrysoberyl (alexandrite) that shows beautiful green and purple color change under different lighting conditions (green in indoors fluorescent lights, purple in sunlight/halogen - on photos). This is an old piece of rare quality for the material. The crystals grew in a constricted vein preventing complete crystal development. Main crystals are complete and undamaged.
